A retrospective view, 9 month on...

This is my umpteenth attempt at blogging, but each time I started to do one I found myself getting frustrated by the process and "lashing" the project in the "can't be bothered with all this nonsense" pile!!

There is just too much to write about on my opening post to cover everything that we have done since arriving in NZ. Suffice to say, I couldn't do it justice in a few words, it would take far too much time to document it all in detail.

I suppose I could just put a list of places we have been to, and some activities we have taken part in to give an overview of our initial 9 months here as a family- so here goes.

Auckland - Skytower

Cambridge (our home town) - our first place to see in NZ, little did we realise we would be living here!

Rotorua - sulphur pools, Blue/Green lakes and Lake Tarawera, horse riding for Jan's birthday

Raglan - body boarding, bridal veil falls

Mount Maunganui - body boarding, surfing, swimming, walks. shell collecting, hot water pools, first "Kiwi" Christmas, picnic, ice creams

Marakop falls and the stunning natural bridge

Taupo - stunning views

Te Awamutu -stayed with Kim and Elaine and girls, first taste of NZ, awfully stressful times waiting for our house to sell in UK

Ashhurst - stayed with Diny, quad biking by the Manawatu river

Palmerston North - shopping, beautiful esplanade

Akitio - swimming, beach BBQ, fire, boys peeing on the fire to put flames out :)

Foxton - "Lawrence of Arabia" beach, Pipi harvesting, getting dragged behind a 4WD on an old tyre!!, quad biking

Wellington - Te Papa museum, harbour

Hardly does justice to all that we have squeezed in to 9 months when you look at it like this, but it has been an exciting start.
