Been trying for days to win a competition on my fave rock station, Radio Hauraki, finally managed to get in there today and won a pair of 3 day grandstand passes to the A1 Grand Prix racing in Taupo. It is an international motor racing format, like formula 1, but all the cars are the same for each country. Levels the playing fields somewhat. Emerson Fittipaldi will be there this weekend as well as some of motor racing elite.
Soooooo hot today, the all time Cambridge weather temperature was smashed today, 34.3 degrees C, but on our driveway it was actually 40 degrees C on the car thermometer, and that is pretty accurate. It is 9.30pm and it is still mid 20's, bloomin' sweltering. All the computers are packing up in the heat, I have had to put a fan facing the pc to stop it overheating, constant stream of air blowing round the case.
I been driving through tar "puddles" today, literally like driving through rain puddles but a bit stickier - yuk. My van is covered in tar splashes. Just hope the track is going to survive in this heat..... but sure the drivers are going to put on a good show. Kieran and I are going to enjoy it.
