Cold spell - brrrr

Didn't think Saturday was particularly cold, but the south island copped a load of snow. Sat on deck this morning, absolutely gorgeous in the very warm sunshine, got a red face and only sat in it for 5 minutes, and with it being sheltered it was lovely. Other side of the house was a different story though where the cool breeze made a difference.

This afternoon saw us take Louisa's friend back home to join in with her mum's 40th. Just a few guests and family round for a bite to eat and drink, they didn't want to have anything extravagant as they had been up to Auckland to see the musical, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and had pushed the boat out a bit hard according to sources :D

It was a nice afternoon, having a good chat with friends from the school, kids running amok in their huge garden as usual. But the weather outside - bloomin freezin in the southerly wind that is coming straight up from the Antarctic. Got home to find the house still warm, popped the heating on and it is toasty now. But the cold snap has certainly taken hold at last.
