Went to the show, headlined by Dave Dobbyn, an NZ icon if ever there was one! Don't dare say a word against him (as our mate did!) or you will incur the wrath of the kiwi nation :D
Anyway, it was a great day, very hot, lots of families having picnics, wine and beer on the grass. It was a really good family occasion, with the correct message of Christmas being put across!
I did my bit, doing a stint supervising on one of the fairground rides for the church groups who were part of the event organisation.
A local swing/funk band from Hamilton were also on, Late 80's Mercedes, they were excellent, and for the little ones, the Funky Monkeys from TV were there. Kieran, even though 13, still joined in, anything for a laugh eh son?
As the evening wore on, people lit candles and we had an excellent stock of glow sticks to call on. It really made for a wonderful atmosphere and looked fantastic. The fireworks that ended the night were a fantastic finale to a great day.
