Went up to the Coromandel coast today, to "Fangamataa", a really popular summer resort for Kiwis. We can see why, the beach was beautiful, white silica sand on a beautiful curved bay of clear seas. The water is very shallow and excellent for swimming and boarding. We spent most of the day in the sea, messing about on the body boards. Kieran had his surfboard with him, but the waves were not really the best. No good for bodyboarding either, so I ended up being the "tug", dragging all three of them around the water. They were in line astern, abreast, and in singles too, kept me at it for ages. But we did enjoy it. Even got to go snorkelling, but it was a bit lacking in interesting stuff to look at - did manage to find a head band though!!!.
Stopped off in Paeroa on the way back to have a photo taken with the "world famous in NZ L&P giant bottle"!!!
Great day, have put it on the list of places to re-visit.
