Just thought I'd share a few pics taken on my work camera, of various places I get sent to.....
First one was taken yesterday (Friday) on the hills over Kinloch and Lake Taupo - still stuns me to think that this huge lake was caused by a volcanic explosion!!! It is beautiful down there though, and if you peer through the heat haze you can see the twin volcanic cones of Mount Ruapehu and Mount Ngaruhoe in the background. Note the artistically placed thistle in the foreground hahaha
Second one was taken by a site overlooking Lake Karapiro, lovely twighlight, but difficult to take so a bit fuzzy, the camera battery was running out so it was a bit hurried. But the moon and early stars were showing with the tree silhouetted against the sky. It is difficult to see on here I just noticed - hmmm
Lastly the sunset at Maungakawa just down the road from us. Mount Pirongia is showing just as the sun dropped down behind it with Cambridge showing in the gloom in the foreground.
