Went to see Raffles hotel in Singapore, and it was everything we expected. Only trouble was, $22 for a Singapore Sling at the bar meant we weren't going to be ripped off, but at least we saw the place, took loads of pics and Jan got to fulfil one of her goals.

what the raffles as gorgeous as it always sounds???
It is very colonial,but now hemmed in by developments in a rapidly expanding modern environment. Nice building, palms in the courtyard, whirling ceiling fans, old wooden ballroom etc. Everything you would expect of the place.
Slightly more exotic than Wirral :D
Only S/Slings I had were on the aeroplane - again not so glamorous hahaha
