Day trip to Marakopa beach.

Had a last minute decider to make the best of the drier weather and take a trip down to Marakopa with Natalie, Paul and the boys. Even Paddy got a run out today, and did he enjoy himself!!

First stop was the natural bridge, that huge limestone roof over what was once a cave, then off to Marakopa falls, which were absolutely spectacular with a huge amount of water flowing over, especially after the rains of the last couple of months.

We then headed down to the beach itself, black sand and not the prettiest beach in the world. But, the kids (young and old) had fun climbing the sand hills and cliffs, foraging in rock pools and just having a good time. Paddy had a fine time too, chasing the kids and adults alike. He came unstuck a few times too, stepping in what he thought to be surface water only to find that it was quite deep and disappearing up to his neck in the cold water. Joe and Fraser got a real soaking too when a wave caught them unaware as they looking in the rock pools, soaked to the skin poor boys!
