from an Olympic Taekwondo athlete!! After the Olympic homecoming parade last week and the kids meeting the medal winners, this guy comes in to the school today to have a talk to the kids as his cousin attends the school Jan and I met him outside as we were heading to netball practice and had a quick chat, not knowing then that he had done an autographed "card" for me!
A nice touch. It seems the kids have met more athletes over the last weeks than you could shake a stick at.....

i didn't see any of the NZ olympians interviewed, but all the interviews with UK olympians suggested they were nice, down-to-earth ppl who worked incredibly hard towards a goal. i'd been expecting them to be very full of themselves, but they couldn't thank other ppl fast enough
I was quite touched by it to be honest, to think my kids thought of it!
